The school caters for pupils with a range of special educational needs including, ASD, SLD, Complex needs and PMLD.


Job Description:

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students with SEN. You will work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), teachers, and other support staff to ensure that our students receive the tailored support they need to succeed.


Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.

Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support the learning and development of students.

Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt lessons and materials to meet the needs of students with SEN.

Monitor and report on the progress and development of students.

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Assist with classroom management and organisation.

Support students with personal care needs, if required.

Participate in training and professional development opportunities.





Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.

A genuine interest in supporting the learning and development of students with SEN.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

•              Relevant SEN Background

•              SEN school based experience

•              SLD, ASD, complex needs experience

•              The last 2 years covered references

•              Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport

•              Full DBS – on the update service (We can provide one for you)
