Capita Education, who is the first choice for schools in the Durham area, is looking for an SEN teacher who is driven towards making a change.
As special educational needs teacher you will be specifically employed to work with children who need extra support, or require an advanced programme of education so that they can complete their learning successfully. The role requires you to have a recognised QTA in education.
With regards to the role a successful candidate may be working with children who; are physically disabled, who have speech and/or language difficulties, who have a mental disability such as autism or who have a combination of these disabilities. One of the key aspects of the teaching role is indentifying the individual needs of the children and creating and safe and supportive learning environment. You will be teaching either individuals or small groups of pupils within or outside the class but most importantly assessing children who have long or short-term learning difficulties and working with colleagues to identify individual pupils' special needs.

The role is initially temporary from September up until Christmas and is to replace a permanent leaver and therefore has the potential to turn into a permanent position.
