Cover Supervisor - Basingstoke

Salary Grade - C

(£10,900 - £12,300)

08.30-3.30 Term Time Only

September 2016

As a cover supervisor you will be asked to supervise classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, work for the classes will be provided and as the cover supervisor you will lead the class and support the students in completing the set tasks. You will be required to give instruction to the class from the work provided and maintain good order in the lesson, it is therefore essential that you can develop strong working relationships with young people.

Candidates with an interest in education or even aspirations of becoming a teacher are welcomed.

Main duties of the post:

  • To supervise students during the lessons of teacher absence
  • Promote positive values, attitudes and good student behaviour
  • Liaise with the teaching assistants regarding individual student support
  • Provide accurate feedback to the teacher of the conduct of the lesson

Essential Requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs or more to C grade, or equivalent, including English and mathematics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and show resilience
  • A positive, inclusive attitude
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with a wide range of people
