Position: Nursery Nurse
Capita Education (CER) is working with a Nursery in the Sparkhill area who is seeking a bank of relief nursery nurses to work with them on a weekly basis. The nursery caters for babies and children of a range of ages; sometimes they have babies who are less than 2 months old.
In the area, there are a cluster of nurseries who work closely together under the same management so you will sometimes be required to work across a number of sites. All nurseries have a similar lay out and operate in the same way.
It is essential that you have previous experience of working with babies and young children, due to the ages of the children you will be required to wash and change children as required. You must be prepared to help where needed, including undertaking domestic jobs within the setting e.g. snack preparation, cleansing of equipment etc.
You must contribute to a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children in the setting and support other members of staff where required. You must effectively deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interests of the children are met. You will then be required to keep records of your key children's development and learning journeys to share with parents / carers.
It is essential that you develop and maintain strong partnerships and communications with parents and carers to facilitate day to day caring and early learning needs. Some of the children across the sites have English as an additional language so it would be desirable if you could speak another language to aid their development - however, this is not essential.
