Newington Academy is an exciting, caring and fun place to be. It is a Victorian building that was originally a secondary school. We are an average sized primary Academy, with approximately 312 pupils on roll, ranging from 3 to 11 years. We currently have 12 registration classes, 2 in the Foundation Stage, 5 in Key Stage 1 and 5 classes in Key Stage 2. All of our classes are supported by passionate Teachers and excellent Learning Support Assistants.
We offer a wide range of Extra-Curricular clubs along with a Breakfast Club which is open every morning.
The area around the Academy is currently being regenerated so it is rapidly changing - we are very excited about these changes! Newington Academy is a thriving academy full of life and fantastic experiences that gives the Academy its unique atmosphere and place in the community. We have a busy and enthusiastic learning environment where there is always much to do, see and learn.
Newington Academy is a key member of Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), the operational arm of the Greensward Charitable Trust, which is a federation of academies created to provide thousands of students/pupils with the best possible education. AET aims to provide the opportunity for all young learners to fulfill their real potential, broaden their horizons and become active, prosperous and successful citizens in the world around them.
AET believes that all young people deserve to become world class learners - to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment, with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up to date resources available to them.
AET is committed to doing everything it can to ensure that young people are able to, in the future, compete on the world stage with the skills, confidence and flair to generate new ideas, new initiatives and thereby make a full contribution to tomorrow's world.
