Cathy Walsh OBE has been leading Barking & Dagenham College (BDC) since September 2008 and during this time the College has increased its annual turnover by 17% and student success rates by 18%.
With the largest volume of 16-18 apprenticeship trainees of any London college, the College works in partnership with national, regional and local businesses to train their workforces and to match talent to their vacancies/skills shortage area.
Cathy has led a cultural transformation across the organisation with students and businesses at the centre. Staff roles are tailored to strengths and top team performances are driven by the College's aspirational value set.
Cathy was awarded with an OBE for services to further education in the 2014 Queen's Birthday Honours List.
